To celebrate the hard work of our amazing pupils and the completion of their SATs we are going to Potterne Park and Moors Valley for a day of activities and a BBQ lunch on Friday 18th May 2018.  The length of the day will remain the same; we will leave during morning registration and be back to school by 3.30pm. 
 
Pupils are not required to wear school uniform but dress appropriate for the day.  Please keep a close eye on the weather – this could mean a sunhat and sun cream or a waterproof!  As pupils are on their feet all day please ensure they wear trainers or appropriate supportive shoes. It would also be a good idea for them to wear a watch.  Pupils must not bring expensive items with them.  We will have a camera with us.
 
We intend to walk to and from Potterne Park/Moors Valley which is approximately 1.2 miles.  The school minibus will be available for any pupils who are unable to walk this distance.  Please note that there will be no option for parents to drop off or collect from the parks as we all need to travel as a group.
 
The morning will consist of games in the park and an early BBQ. The afternoon will be orienteering in Moors Valley.  We intend to be back at school by 3.30pm. The Year 6 teachers – form tutors and teachers of English and Maths – will accompany Mr Jenkinson and myself.  For the orienteering exercise, staff will be at various points on the route and pupils will work in small groups.  Pupils may from time to time, as part of the activity, become ‘lost’ but please be assured with staff and Rangers on site we not lose them!  All staff and pupils will be briefed before the session.
 
Depending on the weather and how the activities go we may alter the itinerary.
 
If you have already ordered a hot school meal for that day, please cancel this online directly with Chartwells at least 48 hours in advance to receive a credit.  If your child is entitled to free school meals, please could you also cancel this online as all pupils will receive a BBQ lunch.
